Melt Into Spring

Yup, we’re sick of winter. It was a season to remember with freezing rain hitting an all-time high and Toronto hitting an all-time low temperature on January 5th (beating the record from 1959!).

And then suddenly the big thaw. That means it’s time to set aside Netflix and open the windows.

Our guide includes all things spring – think Canada Blooms, ComiCon and plenty of maple syrup festivals. If that sounds dull, bring your friends together for a brew or two at the Steam Whistle St. Patrick’s Day Party or sip on some bold reds at the California Wine Fair in April. When you’re done, sweat it off at the CN Tower Climb on April 7th, OR lace up for the Mississauga Marathon on May 6th.

If you haven’t planned for March Break yet with the kids, visit a Viking Village at the ROM or take in a family flick for $2.99 a person at Cineplex, with four showings a day. Note that our Canadian Gold Medalists, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, are touring with Stars on Ice on May 4th at the ACC.

Add to your personal calendar: Earth Hour on March 24th at 8:30 pm, the Maple Leafs’ last regular season home game on April 7th, and opening Day at Wonderland on April 29th.

There really is something for everyone. Pick your favourite and get out to enjoy our fabulous city. So proud of ‘the 6ix’!
